 Weekly land sales in Dubai (November 2-6, 2008) reach AED 825 /USD 225 mn

In one of the first surveys conducted with nationals and expatriates in the UAE since the global credit crisis, almost two-third of those polled feel that the current scenario will ultimately benefit the end users. The survey also revealed that 47 per cent of the respondents felt the UAE would remain an attractive destination for real estate investments over the long term. It is a clear indication that people continue to be positive about the country’s financial outlook and its real estate market. While most buyers are in the sell mode, it is interesting to note that 21 per cent of those polled feel that they will be ready to invest in the real estate in the UAE during the next one year. It is a clearly suggests that people feel that the market will adjust to the crisis and respond proactively to the downturn. For the first time, Abu Dhabi has emerged as the most attractive destination for property investment, whereas Ajman has come in as a strong third place contender.
