Situated at one end of the residential district near the Dragon Mart Complex;
China
cluster is represented by 2, 3 and 4-storey buildings. A sense of harmony and
balance is reflected in the depiction of traditional Chinese motifs, balconies,
red tile overhangs and pagodas at china cluster. Representing traditional English life,
England
cluster features 2, 3 and 4-storey buildings designed in the 18th and 19th
century Georgian and Revivalist architectural styles. Mesmerizing to eyes, the
red gabled roofs and brick chimneys with shop fronts on the ground floor add to
the sense of old English community spirit.
France cluster resembles the architecture of southern France
where traditional yellow buildings complement the surrounding areas. The 2, 3
and 4-storey residential blocks characterized by long French windows, red and
grey bricks and pilasters or half-columns take you to the fashionable streets
of Paris.
Lying at the end of the residential district, Greece
cluster features 3 and 4-storey buildings complementing the Greek architectural
ideals. Symbolizing order and harmony, the neighborhood characterizes tiled-roofs,
balconies, symmetrically placed windows and white-painted walls.
Italy cluster will charm you with
terracotta roofs, simple facades and pleasing fluidity. The Italy
neighborhood features 2, 3 and 4-storey residential blocks built in true Tuscan
fashion.
Morocco cluster features 3 and 4-storey
residential buildings with simple design. The sand colored walls, vibrant green
tiles, natural terracotta, stucco walls and wide arch windows are some of the
significant features of this neighborhood.
Occupying an enviable location in the heart of the residential district, Persia
cluster features 2, 3 and 4-storey buildings. The main attributes of this
cluster are the traditional Islamic domes, wide-spaced arches & windows and
beach & blue colored facades that lend the neighborhood a distinctive
character.
Russia cluster will take you down a memory
lane to rich Russian heritage. The neighborhood features 2, 3 and 4-storey
residential buildings in whites and grays reminiscent of Russian architectural
themes.
Spain cluster boasts of traditional
stucco exterior finish, shades of Mediterranean oranges/peaches, glittering
tiles, low-pitched roofs, arched windows and raised entryways. The 3 and 4-storey buildings with the traditional Spanish balconies bring a sense of the
outdoors into some of these flats.
Emirates, the latest addition to its country
cluster, is the 10th and the final precinct of the Residential
District at International
City. Located at the
northeast of the country clusters, this one captures the best of the Arabian
architecture. Emirates comprises of 26 low-rise buildings featuring 856 studios
and 756 one-bedroom apartments. In addition to the residential spaces, there
are 52 units for commercial purpose as well.
Status
The Residential District started in 2006 and has been
completed successfully. The delivery of 387 buildings was completed by February
2008. The Emirates cluster that was announced in March 2008 is currently under construction
and scheduled to be completed by third quarter of 2009.
