Dubailand is an ambitious tourism, leisure and entertainment metropolis spread over 3 billion square feet (278 km²/107 mile²) in the emirate of Dubai, catering to the requirements of the entire family. This dynamic development was conceived by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates. The diverse projects under Dubailand include theme parks, eco-tourism projects, shopping malls, restaurants and residential complexes that are being developed by investors from the UAE and abroad. The project was officially announced on October 23, 2003. Dubailand will be completed in 2 phases; Phase I extends from 2007 to 2010 and Phase II from 2015 to 2018.
Dubailand is estimated at Dh235 billion and is expected to play a key role in reducing Dubai’s dependence on oil revenues. The master development is home to path breaking projects like the Dubailand Theme Park that will be twice the size of Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, making it the biggest amusement park in the world.
LocationDubailand is located in the emirate of Dubai, along the Emirates Ring Road that connects it to Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai and Sharjah. A mere 10 minutes from the Dubai International Airport, Dubailand is close to the top financial centres of Business Bay and Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).

Bigger than modern Dubai, Dubailand projects a population of 2.5 million that includes tourists, workers and residents, once operational.
