Dubai projects that stands out in 2010

Dubai has embarked on a quest to deliver the unbelievable and unmatchable, in the realms of Real estate. Architecture in Dubai has always pushed the boundaries, attesting the testament of world class quality and great distinction. Dubai on the way of becoming a leisure and entertainment capital has given to the world new pioneering projects. Not paying heed to the hogwash by international media on Dubai losing its sheen and glory, it fought with vengeance the aspersions against it, never flailing from its core objective, to deliver nothing but world class standard of projects, and it reflects on the series of interesting and mouth gapping ventures, just holding you captive as long as you live.

Lined below are top Emirates many tourism-related projects coming into existence in 2010. The projects first announced in World Travel Market (WTM) in London in November 2009 released with the headline ‘flagship developments defy the global economic downturn and open in Dubai'.

 1. Burj Dubai

Burj Dubai is an iconic destination of Dubai today. Another breathtaking masterpiece, setting on Dubai as a centre piece in Downtown Burj Dubai area. This world’s tallest building houses glorious designer Armani’s first hotel, with 160 guestrooms and suites, a Spa, a private members' club, two gourmet restaurants and a nightclub. Also nestling in this prime destination of Dubai are 144 superb Armani Residences furnished in the designer's ‘homes' brand, Armani Casa.

 2. Dubai World Central Al Maktoum International (DWC-AMI)

Dubai has been witnessing major developments in the property sector and Dubai World Central is a prime one among them. It is a multi-phase development sheltering Dubai Logistics City (DLC), Commercial City, Residential City, Aviation City, Golf City and world's largest airport, the Dubai World Central-Al Maktoum International (DWC-AMI). Dubai World Central is located in the environs of Jebel Ali Port and Free Zone in New Dubai area. Spread across 140km² development, it is also the region's first integrated, multi-modal transportation platform connecting air, sea and land. The costs for the entire DWC development has been estimated in excess of US $32 billion. Phase one is scheduled to open on June 2010.

 3. Kidzania

A distinguishable place for kid’s entertainment is Kidzania at Dubai Mall coming up in 2010. It’s the place for the kids where they can bask in fun driving bus, flying aeroplanes and working in restaurants. Emaar Retail has mastered the unique plan of Kidzania after wowing the world with Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, SEGA Republic, Reel Cinemas and Dubai Ice Rink at the mall.

Along with places of fun for the kids, there are also offices, schools, a fire station, race track, radio station, pizzeria, hospitals, a bank, ATM machines, theatre and fashion ramps, scaled down to a child-friendly size in Kidzania. The center of attention though is the Emirates Airline component of this edutainment centre.

 4. Jumeirah Golf Estates

A landmark in Dubai's premier residential golfing community, Jumeirah Golf Estates is set to become world's leading sporting destinations. Golfing community's supreme stars Greg Norman, Vijay Singh, Sergio Garcia and Pete Dye have conceptualized and developed world’s most distinctive golf developments with the strikingly characterized and designed residential communities - Fire, Earth, Water, and Wind. Jumeirah Golf Estates has brought a new sense of luxury and space to Dubai with the beautifully crafted residences.

 5. Tiger Woods Al Ruwaya Resort

This is another sporting destination modeled on the golf theme and world renowned golf champion Tiger Woods. The Tiger Woods Dubai and Al Ruwaya Golf Club are set to open in 2010. Prime feature of the place is the 18-hole championship course amidst dramatic elevation changes, lush landscaping, stunning water features and an overall design challenging golfers playing abilities. Residential and hospitality components will include 197 residences, a boutique hotel, a spa, a fine dining restaurant, a professionally staffed golf academy and the Al Ruwaya clubhouse.

6. The Meydan Racecourse

Meydan Racecourse will soon be a landmark for hosting high-profile events including Dubai International Racing Carnival and the Dubai World Cup. With an accommodation capacity of 60,000 spectators, this new 1.2-km long harbors a horse racing museum and gallery, hotels, restaurants and an IMAX theatre.

7. Dubai Metro

Dubai Metro got a warm and welcoming reception in its 2009 launch. Coming up next is the Green Line scheduled to open in June 2010. The project includes eight underground stations, 12 elevated stations, 8km of underground track and 15km of above ground track. 17 trains are scheduled to run in 2010 on the newly built track. The route covers the area between Al Nahda Street to Healthcare City.

 8. The World

Nakheel once again represent they are the master planner and developer with the The World project e in 2010. Construction will take place for 20 of the planned 300 luxury man-made islands. Four islands stand in the market in the current schedule.
