An archipelago of 10 islands, Cape Verde is an unspoiled piece of paradise in the Atlantic Ocean. Endowed with lovely beaches, stunning scenery and a climate more predictable than that of the neighboring Canary Islands, Cape Verde is, in every way, the ‘European Caribbean without the jet lag.’ The country boasts a dry tropical climate throughout the year, with temperatures varying between 22ºC and 30ºC. Teeming with quality restaurants, the Cape Verde Islands were described as “the next potential holiday hotspot” by BBC Holiday (Nov 2005). Having close economic ties to the US, the EU and the World Bank, the local government is very supportive of foreign investment, the local currency Cape Verde Escudo (CVE) being fixed to the Euro.
