Jumeirah Group, Dubai-based luxury hospitality group, has announced that Hong Kong's Agile Property Holdings has been appointed them to manage a beach resort in China. The Jumeirah Qing Shui Bay Resort property located on the southern island of Sanya will comprise a 250-room hotel and 50 private villas. The resort property is expected to open in 2013.
The Jumeirah Qing Shui Bay Resort will be Jumeirah's 4th management agreement in China after Shanghai, Guangshou and Macau. Jumeirah may not open the first of 6 hotel properties planned in China until 2010, as the project faces another delay due to the financial crisis.
Jumeirah Group has 14 hotel properties under construction including locations such as Shanghai in china, Phuket in Thailand and the Maldives and looks to hit a target of 60 hotels under management by 2012. Dubai headquartered hotel group also has management agreements in Argentina, U.S. Virgin Islands and Costa Rica.
