Organisers of the Italian Luxury Interiors event closed day one hedging a four-digit crowd pull of more than 1,000 visitors over the three-day event at the capital’s Emirates Palace Hotel. According to Francesco Alfonsi, the UAE-based Italian Trade Commissioner, trade between the UAE and Italy is currently pegged in excess of Dhs30 billion per annum.

Talking at the interactive exhibition (yesterday, Thursday March 4), he confirmed that more than 300 corporate visitors attended the first day of the inaugural event showcasing Italian luxury interiors. He said that the main interest comes from trade buyers across the hospitality, real estate and interiors sectors.

The inaugural interactive exhibition introduces new-to-market architectural concepts, interior designers and furnishings from 35 cutting-edge Italian firms. Italy’s trade commissioner to the UAE, Francesco Alfonsi said that demand is strong in luxury interiors across hospitality, residential and yachts. In the coming months, 7,000 new hotel rooms will enter the market in Abu Dhabi and Dubai reflecting the ongoing demand for the luxury interior market in the region. More than 1,000 trade-corporate visitors are expected to attend the Italian Luxury Interiors event in Abu Dhabi (March4-6 2010) supporting the notion that the high-end furnishing sector remains in a growth mode.
