The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) is offering attractive hotel rates for tourists, themed Sharjah Summer Breaks. Recently, the authority kick started the annual Sharjah Summer Promotions on June 15.
The promotional campaign is in line with the SCTDA's strategy to diversify tourism offerings to attract both international and domestic tourists, develop the emirate's tourism sector and improve the level of facilities and services offered by Sharjah's hotels and resorts.
The statistics issued by the SCTDA showed a remarkable increase in the number of hotel visitors in Sharjah up to the end of September 2008, totaling 1,152,181, compared to 1,022,985 for the same period in 2007, while the hotels showed an occupancy rate of 75 per cent until the end of September 2008, compared to 72 per cent in the same period in 2007.
