The Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) has clarified that exiting to any neighboring country for visa change or getting a new visit visa is permitted. The people can travel to neighboring areas like Kish in Iran or Oman to change or renew their visas.
Major General Mohammad Al Merri, DG, DNRD, "We have never stopped people from exiting to any country of their choice to get their visas changed or renewed".
The officials at DNRD also informed that the visit visa can be transferred into employment visa by paying a fee but is considered on "a case by case basis". The clarification came in the wake of confusion among Dubai residents on rules pertaining to visa changes as the authorities had earlier banned visa run to neighboring countries.
