Dubai World Central to spend $33 billion on transport network for real estate development

Dubai World Central, the 140 sq km urban real estate development in Jebel Ali

Dubai World Central (DWC), the 140 sq km urban real estate development in Jebel Ali, has announced to spend $33 billion on developing a substantial transport network to help the residents move freely around the 140-kilometre city-within-a-city. Grand Central will be DWC's transport hub and will be located at the centre of the Commercial City.

DWC will have its own light rail system that will eventually be linked to the Dubai Metro at Grand Central. The light rail system will have about 5 stations in Residential City, 3 in Commercial City and 2 in Golf City.

Dubai World Central is a massive real estate development that comprises of DWC Golf City, DWC Commercial City, DWC Residential City, Dubai Logistics City and DWC Aviation City. The development will also be home to the world's largest airport, Al Maktoum International.
