The seminar was held in Dubai International Financial Centre

A seminar was held in Dubai to highlight roles and functions of the Dubai International Financial Centre Courts, an independent judiciary created to adjudicate civil and commercial disputes relating to the DIFC professionals. The conference titled 'The Role of the DIFC Courts', explored key features of the DIFC Courts system, including the legal framework, enforcement of awards and the role of the Courts in arbitration. The seminar was held in Dubai International Financial Centre.

HE Dr. Omar Bin Sulaiman, Governor of DIFC said: 'The independent, fair, transparent and efficient judicial system provided by the DIFC Courts is an integral part of the platform offered by DIFC for the development of the financial services industry and capital markets. As DIFC further grows as a global financial centre, the DIFC Courts will play a key role in giving DIFC-based financial institutions the certainty and stability required to grow their business.'

Established in 2004, the DIFC Courts are the only English language, common law justice system in the Middle East region. The DIFC Courts were created to deal with all cases falling within its jurisdiction, particularly those involving sophisticated international financial transactions.
