Camel Racing
It is one of the unique sports of UAE being a part of the heritage as well. Camel Racing is organized during the winters, the preferred timing being Thursdays and Friday mornings, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., from October to March. Major races are held across the tracks across the country, offers a good prize money and there is no entry cost.
Canoeing
You can be a part of canoeing trips through the mangroves. You don’t need to be an expert to try your hands in this.
Car Rally
Many car rallying events takes place in the UAE organized by the Emirates Motor Sports Federation. Don’t miss The Desert Challenge organized in the beginning of December.
Cricket
Cricket is developing a huge fan base in the UAE. Cricket stadiums in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi Abu Dhabi Cricket Council organize tournaments with participants from across the world.
Football

Golf
Nestled in UAE are many well appointed golf courses with lush green fairways and manicured greens while a few ones are sand offering unique experience of playing in the browns. Along with is there are the well equipped club houses and additional facilities. PGA championship golf courses located here offers coaching facilities with PGA qualified professionals. The Dubai Desert Classic, a European Tour event, is held in March where you can catch many world’s professional golfers live in action.
Horse Riding
This is one recreational sport and there are desert rides available for the experts. Also there are regular horse shows on jumping and riding. There are Abu Dhabi Tourist Club, Abu Dhabi Hunting & Equestrian Club, Ajman Equestrian Club, Dubai Equestrian Centre, varied stables and clubs offering the facility.
Polo
Dubai Polo Club offers polo and hacking with riding equipment. Ghantoot Polo & Racing Club, Sheikh Zayed Rd has four floodlit polo fields, a racing grandstand, polo school, tennis courts, swimming pool and fitness centre. Major events runs from Mid-October to April.
Powerboat Races
World championship powerboat races are staged each year in the UAE. Inshore Formula One is staged off Abu Dhabi Sharjah in November along with offshore Class One races held off Dubai and Fujairah.
Tennis
Hotels and private clubs in well equipped with tennis courts, offering a relaxing time for fitness and energy.
