For climbers who are looking for new destinations, Papua New Guinea can offer good climbs to enthusiasts who want to experience something different.
Mt. Whilhem, the highest mountain in Papua New Guinea has the capacity to challenge expert climbers. At the foot of Mt. Whilhem is Betty's Adventure Lodge and a Trout Farm, which provide the basics for the climbers.

While a climb up Mt. Whilhem can be very adventurous, it is recommended that climbers be medically fit as the air up there is quite thin and snowy at times. |
Trans Niugini Tours offers two Mt. Whilhem options. One option is based around Keglsugl which include trekking through villages in the Mt. Whilhem foothills.
Haus Poroman Lodge in Mt. Hagen also provide climb tours to Mt. Giluwe and Mt. Ialibu peak.
Other mountains that provide good climbs from Mt. Hagen include Mt. Ongo, Mt. Kubor, and Mt. Kine Kaino Ku.
