There is a legend that some Spanish treasure hunters heard of the Arawak gold and tried to locate the way to the treasure. They came to know of an Arawak witch and captured her to lead them to the treasure. She pretended like leading them to the treasure, led them into a cave and suddenly disappeared. The Spaniards tried to run away, out of fear but the river engulfed them. The witch changed the course of the river forever.
Deep Sea Fishing
Most major hotels offer full or half day charters that include boat, captain, crew and equipment. The prize catch could be a blue marlin, sailfish, white marlin, mahi mahi, wahoo, yellowfin tuna, blackfin tuna, skipjack, mackerel and kingfish.
