Kingstown is a lively port and market town with stone-block colonial buildings, cobblestone streets and churches. Some of the noteworthy churches here are the St Mary's Cathedral of the Assumption, a catholic church dating back to the 1820’s, the Georgian-style St George's Cathedral and the Kingstown Methodist Church.
| The town has small blocks with a several shops selling a range of Caribbean products including and rum shops. The Kingstown market is lively on Saturday morning with numerous stalls selling a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. The recently built fish market is also a bustling market with a variety of fish for sale. | ![]() |
This port town is also a busy dockyard with huge cargo ships dock in the jetty every week. Bananas are the islands' main export and can be seen being loaded in the ships that dock here.
Georgetown
Georgetown has some of St. Vincent's most fertile agricultural lands. Heading northwards along the coast brings you this erstwhile centre for sugar production. It is still the source of Vincentian rum.

Along the western coast are some of the charming & colourful fishing villages. Questelles, Layou, Barrouallie and Châteaubelair are dotted with pastel-colored cottages and have black-sand beaches from where fishermen set out daily in small brightly painted boats.
