The Grenadines

Union Island
This southernmost port of entry for the country is more of a jumping off point for the Tobago Cays. Clifton is the port here and beyond that is an untouched & undeveloped island that is rocky, dry, covered in thorny scrub and dotted with cacti. It is around 3 miles or 5km across at its widest point.

The road from Clifton to the two bays, Belmont & Richmond, goes around a large salt pond and offers good bird watching. Belmont & Richmond Bays also have good beaches with good swimming opportunities.

Mayreau
Mayreau is a 1.5-mile-long (2.5km) island just west of the Tobago Cays with a population of about 200. This quiet and rustic island has a single unnamed village near the middle of the western coast, clear waters and white-sand beaches.

Bequia
This hilly and green island, with a population of less than 5,000, lies 9 miles south of St Vincent. It is the largest of the Grenadines and is just an hour's sail from the mainland of St.Vincent.

Once a center of shipbuilding and whaling, today’s maritime activity is confined to yachting and model boat building. Waterside restaurants, bars, shops, and an occasional small hotel are all found lined on a tiny path along the water's edge. Ashton is on the island's southern coast and the walk till there is pleasant.
