Sightseeing in St.Vincent

Churches
Kingstown, the capital of the island, is known for its churches. St Mary's Roman Catholic Cathedral is in the central part of the town. This grey stone structure amalgamates European architectural styles with Roman arches, Gothic spires and Moorish ornamentation.

St Mary's Cathedral of the Assumption is a Catholic church that dates back to 1820’s. It has Roman arches and columns, with Gothic spires and Moorish adornment. Other notable churches include the Georgian-style St George's Cathedral and the Kingstown Methodist Church.

Botanical Gardens
These Botanical Gardens are amongst the oldest in the Americas. They occupy 20 acres to the north of Kingstown and showcase a variety of tropical trees, flowers and plants. A breadfruit tree here has descended from an original one that was brought to the island in 1765 by Captain Bligh. The gardens also display an extensive collection of ancient stone artefacts.

Baleine Falls
These spectacular falls are located at the northwestern tip of the island of St. Vincent and are only accessible by boat. Fresh mountain water cascades 18m or 60 feet down volcanic slopes into a series natural pool that finally flows down towards the sea. You can enjoy a shower in these falls too.

Anthneal's Private Petite Museum
This small museum in Friendship Bay, Bequia, is a private museum that displays the paraphernalia of Bequia's whaling past.
