Sightseeing in Oman

Oman is a place rife with places of interest and tourist spots apart from many Popular Destinations. Sightseeing in Oman always remains a wonderful experience and many tourists from all over the world come to this place.  There are a number of Oman Museums, Oman Parks and Gardens, Oman Festivals and Events that would make your tour an unforgettable one.

The Sultanate of Oman lies in the Southwest Asia. It nestles on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula with the fame of being one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
Some of the popular sites, which qualifies for sightseeing are Al Jalali and Al Mirani Forts in Muscat, Al Alam Royal Palace in Muscat, Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat, Watchtower in Muscat, Dolphin Boat Trips in Muscat and Qurum Beach in Oman.

Muscat is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Oman. The twin forts of Muscat stand by the side of the Sultan's Al Alam Palace. These marvelous structures were used to serve as fortress in order to protect the old city and Muscat harbor from the entry of intruders.

The Al Alam Royal Palace in Muscat is another mammoth structure, which would leave the visitors agape accentuated by the blue pillars that are wrapped in wrought iron and green edges. The view from the front gives a golden tinge to the onlookers. The edifice is highly fascinating from the outside albeit tourists are disallowed to enter the site.

The significant part of sightseeing in Oman is derived from bewitching Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque which sprawls over an area of 416,000 square meters. The mosque was built from Indian sandstone of around 300,000 ton. One of the striking features of the interior is displayed by the floor of the prayer hall, which is covered with prayer carpet.

Mountain villages seen against the backdrop of canyon walls, groves of date hanging in the plantation oases, a string of sand blown across the dunes, a lone camel riding across the limitless interior are the kind of images afforded by the beautiful and enigmatic country of Oman. Bird watching at Al-Ansab lagoons and Qurm Natural Park or look for flamingos, spoonbills and flocks of wading birds at Barr Al-Hickman would easily enthrall the tourists.
