Buada Lagoon
Buada Lagoon is a landlocked and freshwater lake on the island Nauru and is considered to be one of the exotic spots in the island. It falls mid-southwest of Nauru in the district of Buada. It is 3 to 4 hectares wide and is the only source of fresh water in Nauru. It is about 5 metres above sea-level. The fertile land around the Lake is used for agricultural purposes. Although tourism is at its infancy in Nauru, Buada Lagoon is one of the most popular locations in the country to hang out. Unlike many areas of Nauru, trees are in relative abundance in the vicinity of Buada Lagoon.
Moqua Cave and Moqua Wave
The Moqua Caves are a geological feature in the Pacific island nation of Nauru. The caves are situated below Yaren, in the south of the island. It's quite close to the runway of the airport. The cave also houses the Moqua Wave, which is an underground 0.2 hectare lake referred to by the locals as "Well".
Anibare Bay
Anibare Bay is situated in the district of Anibare and is the best beach area of the island featuring white coral sand. Anibare Bay is the only bay of Nauru in the east of the island nation. It is one of the locations in Nauru which are frequented by tourists. It is also a good place to surf and swim. On the island, Anibare Bay is the most popular location to surf or to swim, but somewhat as well due to constant heavy surf and underwater current. The diversity of the underwater flora there is a rarity, because Nauru has not been heavily explored by tourists. The Anibare Bay is next to the Buada Lagoon the single biggest attraction of the entire island. This is also the location of the second hotel of the island, the Menen Hotel, is located in direct proximity. In 2000 a sea harbour named Anibare Harbour was established on the bay, which is expected to promote fishing.
