1: Black River Gorges National Park
This national park of 6,574 hectares was created in 1994 for the protection of Mauritius’ remaining native forests. Visitors can enjoy magnificent landscapes, with endemic plants and rare bird species. A trail leads from the Pétrin information centre to an area of typical plant life and to a conservation area.
2: Bois Chéri
Visit Bois Cheri and see, learn and enjoy the real tea production. One can also enjoy the tasty Mauritian cuisine in a colonial house build 1819.

3: Chamarel and the colored earth A winding road leads from Case Noyale village to the colored earths of Chamarel: an undulating landscape of different and contrasting shades of colors. The different shades of blue, green, red and yellow are apparently the result of the erosion of the volcanic ash. The neighboring waterfalls of Chamarel rise from the moors and the native plant life. |

4: Domaine de l´Ylang Ylang
The Ylang Ylang plantation is located in Vieux at the Grand Port. A visit of the plantation is a must for every nature-lover. There is also a very lovely restaurant situated near to the site.

Grand Bassin is a sacred lake for the Hindus situated in the Black River Georges National Park. The place worth seeing specially when the feast of Maha Shivaratree is being celebrated.

8: La Vanille Krokodil Park
La Vanille Krokodil Park offers original vegetation in a beautiful environment. There are crocodiles that can be experienced very closely. The park also has a zoo with monkeys, flying foxes, turtles and more. The restaurant at the park serves crocodile meat.
9: La Val Nature Park
La Val Nature Park is beautifully and quietly situated in the southeast with fresh water prawns farming, monkeys, Anthodium farm and more

11: Trou aux Cerfs in Curepipe
The extinct volcano, offers an excellent view over the whole island.
12: Tamarind Waterfalls
The Tamarind waterfalls are more than 240 m high over seven steps. It is difficult and exhausting to go there, but taking a bath in the cold water there is the right reward.

The gardens are known to naturalists throughout the world for their large collection of indigenous and exotic plants, including the giant Victoria Amazonica water lilies and many species of palm trees. The 60-acre garden boasts 500 different species of plants, of which 80 are palms. Of particular interest are the giant water lilies, a spice garden and the Talipot Palms, said to flower every 60 years after which they die.
