Beijing Zoo
The Beijing Zoo is the largest zoo in China. The site was converted into a zoo by Empress Dowager Cixi in 1901. The zoo is inhibited by some 6000 animals of over 570 species from different parts of the country. It is very famous for its collection of rare animals, including the giant Pandas and the Golden Monkeys. It is open from 0830-1600hrs.
Fragrant Hills Park
The Fragrant Hills Park is considered to be the most pleasant scenic spots outside of Beijing. It covers an area of 160 hectares and includes various species local flora. The most exciting activity in the park is the cable ride, taking the visitors to the top of one of the peaks and also provides a wonderful bird's- eye view of Beijing. It is open from 0800-1700 hrs.
Lama Temple
Lama Temple of the Yong He Gong is by far the most colorful temple in Beijing. It is the most famous Tibetan Buddhist Temple outside Tibet. The Temple is an artistic combination of magnificent tapestries and frescos, alluring gardens and intricate wall carvings.
Summer Palace
The Summer Palace is an extremely beautiful palace and is a magnum-opus of landscape architecture. Its main feature is the hundreds of years old man-made Kunming Lake. There is almost half mile corridor that stretches along Kunming Lake's northern shore. There are 10,000 unique pictures painted on the corridors' crossbeams. The Summer Palace lies 12km northwest of the city centre.

Grand Mansions
The grand mansions are the emblems of grandeur and splendor of the fame and fortunes made in more recent times. Although, the colour of the walls of the Grand Mansions have faded, but the architectural glory still remains.
Oriental Pearl Tower
The Oriental Pearl TV Tower is 468 meters high and it is the third tallest TV Tower of the world after the 553-meter CN Tower in Toronto and the 535-meter Moscow TV Tower. The oriental pearl tower consists of three big columns, which are 9 meters in diameter. In the tower, there is a double-decked elevator, which can hold fifty people at a time and a two-speed elevator that can run at a speed of 7 meters per second.
Shanghai Museum
Shanghai museum offers a superb display of porcelain, sculptures and bronze ware. All items are beautifully displayed and have descriptions in English.
