National Park
The national park of Guadeloupe with its mascot, the "Ti-Racoon", provides around 300km of marked trails. These trails called "traces" are located in the mountains of Basse-Terre. They lead you into the center of a beautiful rain forest that is full of tropical animals and plants. A visit to the natural waterfalls will lead to the volcano “ La Soufriere” and the cascading waterfalls of the region.

The beaches
Needless to mention the island of Guadeloupe has a number of beaches, the waters blue and warm punctuated with the palm trees swaying in with the trade winds. There are a number of beaches in the island which could only be reached by foot.
A visitor can experience first hand the different types of beaches on a visit to the island. The white sandy beaches on one side and black sandy beaches contributed by the volcanic soil with all their natural settings are sure to captivate our hearts.
Flora and fauna
There are rainforests and mangroves with trees like coconut, mahogany, rubber trees, ferns and a number of orchids. A number of imported species like the Papaya, carambole, avocado, lemons, oranges and royal palms all form a part of the botanical family of the island.
Flowers like Hibiscus, Alamanda and Bougainvillea bloom throughout the year in the island.
Nature sets herself abound in the botanical gardens of the island and the hundreds of colorful birds and butterflies found in these gardens are a feast to your eyes.
