Christoffel Park

The Christoffel Park is spread over 4,500 acre of land inhabiting protected and endangered wildlife. The park is also home to a variety of exotic tropical flora and fauna. You can witness the numerous species of cactus, rare orchids, divi divi trees and other exotic flowers. |
The park is inhabited by the neon-blue iguanas, rabbits, donkeys, birds and the protected white-tail Curaçao deer which is believed to have been brought here during the 14th century by the South American Indians.
Nature lovers will enjoy the guided walking tours, deer watching, cave exploration and moonlight tours. For those seeking adventure, the bounties of this park can also be explored on horseback or with mountain bikes, jeeps and four-wheel drive vehicles that are easily available for hire. There's a visitor center and a new natural history museum in the historic Landhuis Savonet.
Mt. Christoffel, at a height of 1237 ft., is the island’s highest elevation and is located in the center of this park. You can hike up this summit and enjoy the spectacular and magnificent vistas that unfold the beauty of Curaçao and the Caribbean beyond it.
The park is open from Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 a.m. to 3 p.m on Sundays. For deer watching, prior reservations have to be made. These can be seen between 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Admission charges per person is around US$10.
Shete Boka National Park (Boka Tabla)
The Shete Boka National Park has rugged cliffs and rocks that have been carved into impressive caverns naturally by the water lashing against them. For the adventure seeking visitors, these summits provide ample opportunity for hiking. You can also watch the turtles here in the morning hours.
Boka Tabla is one of the most spectacular sites of Curacao. The waves have carved out a natural wide cavern underneath a limestone terrace. You can stand here to watch and listen the sound of surf rolling in. Take the path along the bluff to the edge of this volcanic landscape where you can see the waves crash against the north coast for miles in each direction.
The park is open Monday through Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
