Over the years, the Global Village has grown to be the primary focal point of Dubai Shopping Festival. Housing the pavilions of almost every major country in the world, this unique cultural hub is a shopper's delight. At its stalls, you can buy merchandise of countries around the world without actually going there. The Global Village was initially conceived as a huge cultural entertainment centre to showcase the cultures, customs including cuisines, music, dance, arts and handicrafts, of diverse races and peoples. Today, it is an international venue for tourism, entertainment, sports and culture.
Location
The mega entertainment complex of the Global Village is located on the Emirates Road within the sprawling Dubailand. It is close to the residential development of Arabian Ranches on Exit 37. The Global Village is connected to all emirates of the UAE via an efficient road network. In addition to housing the pavilions of different countries, the Global Village accommodates restaurants, shuttle transport services and a massive parking area.
Entertainment and Activity Zone
The Entertainment - Fun fair zone offers visitors loads of exciting games & thrilling rides. The fun zones here, maintain high safety standards that suit people of different age groups. A most popular destination is the Luna Park; another big draw is the daily fireworks display that light up the night sky over the Global Village. Other attractions include Kite Festival and the spectacular free-for-all Musical Fountain.
Cafes and Restaurants
With restaurants, cafes and kiosks scattered all over the place, the Global Village is the perfect place to savour the myriad flavours of the world. You can sink your teeth into a juicy burger, tickle your taste buds with a spicy kebab or take comfort in a bowl of lung fung soup. Indeed, the Global Village Food Court is a smorgasbord of global cuisine offering variety unlike anywhere else.
Stage Shows
True to its status as a melting point of world cultures, the Global Village hosts various plays and shows to meet different tastes and interests. Thousands of people enjoy folkloric plays and entertaining cultural performances in the well-designed stage that accommodates thousands of people at one go. Complementing the plays and cultural performances are shows from renowned music artists from all over the world.
