Gloucester Hall is a the 2,000-seater hall here that is used for concerts and other functions.

German Underground Hospital
Remanants of an unfinished fortress, presently houses a museum. These fortifications date back to October 1941, the Second World War, when Hitler had ordered construction of an underground fortress of bunkers and tunnels to protect an army division from air and sea attack in Jersey.  Construction began in Meadowbank, St Lawrence, but the structure remained incomplete. Kilometer-long tunnels and galleries had been blasted out from the shale and covered in 6,000 tons of concrete by slave labourers from many nations. This site was originally designed to be bombproof barracks but was eventually converted into a hospital.  The present museum has a collection of photographs that showcase the experiences of Islanders during the period of Occupation.
