| Sharjah, the third largest of the sheikhdoms of the United Arabi Emirates, is rich in natural beauty. The marvellous and exotic landscape promotes it as a preferred tourist destination. Located on both Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea, it owns a salt strip, the ‘Subkhat’, which is about three miles long. Sharjah has the Sultanate of Oman in its East and Arabian Gulf in its west. It is the home to certain beautiful islands including Sir Abu Nu’air and Abu Mousa. |

Sharjah is the home to mountains as well as sandy plains. The Hajar Mountains, lying to the west of the city, forms a hurdle in the path of the fertile plains, and is has plentiful rich soil and gravel beds.
The scenic Sharjah beaches are ideal for snorkelling, fishing and diving. The strikingly amazing mangrove forest, lying in the southern end of UAE, is the abode of numerous rare flora and fauna.
The sand dunes hosting red sand, the fertile plans rich in lush vegetation and the countless landscaped gardens and parks along with the distinct ‘wadis’ form prime tourist attractions. Yet another place worth mentioning in Sharjah is the serene and exquisite Al Dhaid palm oasis, which offers high quality strawberries as well as other fruits.
Climate
Sharjah, being an Emirate sheikdom, experiences a hot and humid weather. Between November and April, the weather remains warm and sunny during the days while evenings are cool with lower humidity levels. The average temperature varies between 18 C and 30°C, making it the ideal season for spending your vacation in Sharjah.
The city is prone to soaring temperatures above 45°C between May and September, while during the
nights, the temperature remains at 25°C. The city hardly receives any rainfall.
The diverse, unique, rich, beautiful and charming geography along with the cool weather during November to April lures thousands of people from across the globe.
