Getting to and around Nauru

Air NauruNauru, an unexplored island on the Pacific Ocean, offers its visitors a truly unique experience. The island is slowly opening its doors to the outside world to welcome tourists. The peace loving hospitality of the Nauruans and beautiful Pacific Island will entice the visitors to sample a truly unique destination.

Getting to Nauru
Nauru boasts of its own national airline, ‘Air Nauru' that was renamed 'Our Airline' in 2006. Currently, the airline is known by both names. There is only one aircraft flying the Brisbane-Nauru-Tarawa-Majuro round-trip twice weekly. Honiara is likely to be included on routing in the near future. The airport is located in Yaren close to the Parliament House, police station and the administration offices.

Getting around Nauru
Nauru is a small nation spread over 21 sq km of area. 18 km long sealed road circles the island. There are no taxis, cars rental or any mode public transport. Tourists have to negotiate for a car rental from the locals. Car rentals can also be arranged by the hotels. An inland road that is 7 km long leads to the Buada District where one can visit the lagoon and phosphate mining areas.
