Traveling within Grenada is fairly easy with lots of traveling option available that are economical as well convenient. The modes of transport range from buses, mini buses and rental cars on roads to airways and waterways such as boats and catamarans. |
By road
Minivan buses, playing calypso and reggae music, are a good way to get around locally and to get a taste of the daily life of Grenada. Buses ply between Hillsborough and Windward and Hillsborough and Tyrell Bay in Carriacou. The two main minibus routes on Carriacou are between Hillsborough and Windward and Hillsborough and Tyrell Bay.
Most buses leave St George's from the Esplanade bus terminal at the west end of Granby St. Buses are not very frequent during the evenings and on Sundays. Most buses stop running in the early evening and there are few services anywhere on Sunday. Some minibuses however double as taxis and are available for private charter.

Car rentals There are a number of local and international car rental agencies from where you can rent a car. Most of the local agencies have small fleets and offer a minimum 3-day rental period. Visitors need to purchase a local driving license available from the car rental companies. Taxis fares are regulated by the government though they can also be hired by the hour. |
