Getting around St.Kitts and Nevis

Getting to St.Kitts and Nevis The only way to arrive on St. Kitts is by plane from the United States or via a hopper flight from one of the other Caribbean islands.

Robert Llewelyn Bradshaw Airport has a runway long enough to accommodate international flights, but it still does not host direct flights from Europe, even though some charters are available. Nevis' Newcastle Airport can only receive hopper flights, which have links from St. Kitts and Antigua. Check St. Kitts airline regulations when booking your flight to ensure optimal traveling conditions.

There are regular direct flights from London, Frankfurt and Zurich to the neighboring island of Antigua and from Paris to St. Martin with onward connections several times daily to St. Kitts and Nevis with a flight time of just 30 minutes

Mini buses, taxis, rented vehicles and ferry services are available for traveling around the islands.

Driving in St.Kitts is on the left side and if you have a driving permit you can choose from a wide range of options from luxury cars to vans and motor bikes available. The permit can be obtained from the Traffic Department for EC$50.00.

St.Kitts-Nevis ferry Service

The government owned ferry service between St.Kitts and Nevis, the MV Caribe Queen takes about 45 minutes to reach Basseterre from Charlestown and vice versa. The privately owned MV Sea Hustler takes about an hour for the trip. The travel cost is EC$20.00 or US$8.00
