RSSThe public transportation system of Kingdom of Bahrain is quite a restricted one – with very less number of buses and absolutely no trams or trains. But, whatever the existing modes of transportation are there, the prices are very cheap and start at about just 50 fils.

These are the different modes of transportation from which you can choose one according to your needs.
Tourist Buses
You can choose from the air-conditioned buses that are operated by various companies for travelling within Bahrain. These companies organise various tours, from which you can choose the sightseeing destinations according to your taste. One of the most convenient ways of travelling within Bahrain, opting for this mode will enable you to enrich your historical knowledge about Bahrain, along with the fact that you will not lose your way.
Taxis
You have the taxis – quite a lot of them – which you can pick on your way. The taxis can
be identified easily due to the highlighted Orange markings and the Taxi sign. Even though the taxis have meters, there may be cases where you would have offer a gentle reminder to the driver to turn on the meter – Better for you!
Shared Taxis
If you cannot afford to opt for a taxi on your own, then you can use shared taxis. These cheaper alternatives are generally the pick-up trucks running on scheduled routes. You will have to pay just half the charge of a normal taxi. These ‘shared taxis’ come with a yellow sticker on their door.
But you may at times be subjected to some ‘not-so-good’ experience while travelling in shared taxis – with more than 5 people cramming for space.
Radio Taxis
You have the option to pre-book your taxis. Radio taxis, as they are known, can be booked according to your convenience – irrespective of day and night. Even though these taxis are slightly higher priced, you can rely and trust on them. The metered radio taxis offer you a pleasant and safe option for travelling within Bahrain.
Rent A Car
Choose a rent a car option if you want to travel to places quickly and easily! These cars are available at very much affordable costs, and ensures you a safe and hassle-free tip. Keep in mind that you should own a valid GCC or international driving license for renting a car and driving around. Present your license and hire a car. The DL should be endorsed by the Traffic Directorate.
Walking
People who are health conscious and love walking can roam around the smaller places and enjoy the beauty according to their convenience.
Bahrain is a very safe country but being careful anyway will not do any harm. So, choose the transportation mode after thorough checking and enquiry with concerned authorities.
