Anguilla is a small and an easy to explore island. There is one major straight road running from the east-end to the west-end with smaller roads bifurcating and branching off. The most economical transport on the island is a rental car. Although taxis are readily available on call but are not cheap. Public transportation is not available in Anguilla. |
Only taxi service, both in cars and 12-passenger vans, is available throughout the island. All taxis are on a call basis. All the visitors intending to drive in Anguilla need to buy a temporary Anguillian driver's license, which is issued on the spot by car rental companies. Trips and excursions around the island can be arranged through a local tour operator or taxi service providers. Taxi rates are set by government and the taxis have no meters. Posted rates are for one or two people, and additional persons cost a few US$ dollars extra. There are no regular bus services on the island. Bicycles are also very easily available for hire all over the island.
Car Rental
To rent a car you'll need your valid driver's license from your resident country, since the driving is left handed. Person who intends to drive requires a temporary driving licence which is readily available for US$20. The rental car and are well maintained, be careful of the road while driving the speed limit is 30 mph only.

There are many boat excursions available on motorboats, catamarans and glass bottom boats. Cruises to the nearby islands and cays for picnics and sunset cruises are very popular and can be arranged easily. Deep sea fishing and snorkeling can be arranged and the necessary equipment will be provided.
