The Eastern Caribbean dollar is the official currency while the U.S Dollar is also commonly accepted.
Usually U.S. $1.00 equals EC$2.70. Eastern Caribbean Dollar (EC$) is divided into 100 cents. Notes are in denominations of EC$100, 50, 20, 10 and 5 and coins are in denominations of EC$1, and 100, 50, 25, 10, 5, 2 and 1 cents. Since there are no currency restrictions, free import of local and foreign currency is allowed, subject to declaration.
Visa Requirements
Visas are not required for U.S. and Canadian citizens. They only require a passport, birth certificate or voter's registration card. Apart from these, the following countries too do not need a visa: all Commonwealth countries, all the EU countries, & Chile, Finland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, Sweden, Turkey, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
A passport, onward or return ticket and sufficient funds for the period of your stay are required. Immigration authority on arrival, if necessary determines length of stay.
You will be asked where you will be staying on the island and will need a reservation, which can be done through the Tourist Office at the airport, before going through immigration. If you are only given entry of a few days and want to stay longer, extensions are easily obtained for around EC$20.
The following items may be imported into St Vincent & the Grenadines without incurring customs duty: 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 225g of tobacco; 1.136 litres of alcoholic beverage.
