Passports requirements
Passport valid for at least six months is required by all nationals except the following:
- Nationals of the USA holding a certified copy of a birth certificate and photo identification such as the driver’s license or student ID. (Note: As of 23 January 2007, all persons including US citizens traveling by air between the USA and Canada, Central and South America, the Caribbean and Bermuda are required to present a valid passport or other approved document when entering or re-entering the USA.)
Jamaica does not recognize passports issued by the Palestinian government.
Visa requirements
Visa is not required by the nationals of countries for stays of up to 90 days except the following:
- Nationals of Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovak Republic and Slovenia (who can obtain their visas on arrival).
Special visa arrangements will apply from 15 January 2007 to 15 May 2007 (during the Cricket World Cup 2007) in order to ease travel between CARICOM countries. These apply to all visitors for any purpose.
Documents required for visa
1. The tourist must have evidence of sufficient funds
2. A return or onward-bound ticket for their next destination
3. Work visas are issued solely on the basis of evidence of a confirmed job offer
Visa fees
Visa issued at port of entry: US$20 or equivalent
Working days required
Minimum 24 hours are required for issuing of the visa. However, it can take up to three weeks in cases where applications are referred to Immigration Authorities in Kingston.
