Entry and visa requirements – Saba

Though Saba is an open port, there are certain entry and visa requirements depending on the diplomatic relations with the other countries. The nationals of all the countries require passport or other official travel documents valid for 3 months to visit Saba.


Visa requirements

Visa is required by all except the following:

  • Nationals of Belgium, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Chile, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Ecuador, Germany, Hungary, Israel, Jamaica, Korea (Rep), Luxembourg, Malawi, Mauritius, The Netherlands, Niger, The Philippines, Poland, San Marino, Slovak Republic, Spain, Swaziland, Togo and the UK for stays of up to 3 months for tourist purpose
  • Most travelers on their onward journey to some other country within 24 hours by the same means of transportation and not leaving the airport and holding tickets with reserved seats and documents for their onward journey

Nationals of the following countries must apply for a visa before entering the country even for tourist purposes:

 

  • Albania, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China (PR) (except Hong Kong SAR), CIS, Colombia, Cote d’Ivoire, Croatia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Estonia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Kenya, Korea (DPR), Latvia, Libya, Lithuania, Macedonia (Former Yugoslav Republic), Mali, Nigeria, Romania, Serbia & Montenegro and Vietnam  

Nationals of rest of the countries may enter without Saba a visa for stays of up to 14 days for tourist purposes. All stays can be extended locally by the same period that they are valid for.


Types of visa and cost

All visas regardless of duration of stay or number of entries permitted on visa have the same cost of Euro 35.


Validity of visa

Visas are generally issued for as long as duration of stay until a maximum 90 days from date of issue.


Application requirements

  • Passport or equivalent travel document valid for a minimum of 3 months with a blank visa page and endorse residence permit
  • For minors (18 years and under), an approval of both parents or legal guardians with a copy of each parent’s/guardian’s passport is required
  • If passport is new, the old passport must also be submitted
  • Fully completed application form
  • 1 recent passport-size photo per person endorsed on passport with daytime phone number and address written clearly on the back (More photos may be required)
  • Fee payable by postal order to ‘Royal Netherlands Embassy’ or cash (Cheques are not accepted. Visa handling fees may be charged on applications handed in, regardless of outcome, depending on Embassy/Consulate.)
  • Evidence of sufficient funds amounting to a minimum of £30 for each day of stay (Cash is not accepted. Original bank statements, credit card with credit limit statement, traveler’s cheques would do)
  • A recent and original letter from employer stating commencement date with last pay slip (If self-employed, submit letter from solicitor, accountant or company house. If unemployed, submit social benefit booklet. If in education, submit a recent and original letter from school/college/university, confirming attendance.)
  • Valid medical or travel insurance
  • Return or onward ticket(s), plus necessary documents for returning to country of origin  

Working days required

Applications should be lodged at least one month prior to departure to the nearest Embassy of the Kingdom of The Netherlands. All further information about visa requirements may be obtained from The Royal Netherlands Embassies which formally represent the Netherlands Antilles.
