Entry & Visa Requirements for St Maarten

The island of St Maarten/ St Martin is part of the 5 island areas of the Netherlands Antilles and Sint Maarten or St Maarten is the southern half of the island. The Dutch administered St Maarten is akin to a municipality.

To travel to St Maarten, the following documents are a must:

• A valid passport (valid for at least 6 months before expiry)
• Return ticket
• Birth certificate & photo identification (Canadian citizens could submit a certified copy of birth certificate along with permanent resident card or landing permit)
• Naturalized US citizens must produce original naturalization certificate

For EU citizens only a valid passport and return ticket are required.

For other countries, kindly contact your closest Dutch Embassy/Consulate or a St. Maarten Tourist. Vaccinations are not required unless the visitor is from a country afflicted with an epidemic.
