The island of St Maarten/ St Martin is part of the 5
island areas of the Netherlands Antilles and
Sint Maarten or St Maarten is the southern half of the island. The Dutch
administered St Maarten is akin to a municipality.
To travel to St Maarten, the following documents are a must:
- A valid passport (valid for at least 6 months before expiry)
- Return ticket
- Birth certificate & photo identification (Canadian citizens could submit a certified copy of birth certificate along with permanent resident card or landing permit)
- Naturalized US citizens must produce original naturalization certificate
For EU citizens only a valid passport and return ticket are
required.

require a visa for entry into the Netherlands Antilles
for a maximum stay of 3 months (effective from Jan 1, 2005 onwards):
