Free Zones in Dubai

Dubai is an ideal distribution and commercial hub of the Middle- East. This is an accessible market to many countries by its strategic geographical location. From the Indian sub continent to the GCC countries, East Mediterranean to North Africa, and from Iran, CIS Republics to South Africa, Dubai is the ideal distribution and commercial hub.

20 years ago, an overall plan to reduce its economic dependence on oil shifted the attention of the Emirate to the establishment of free zones. Thus the advantage of its geographical location has become an invaluable asset today. The free zones in this young nation are now home to more than 5000 companies. They attract considerable foreign investment in the private sector and the total investment is now estimated to be more than $4000 million.

At present there are six successful free zones in Dubai. They are the

1. Jebel Ali Free Zone
2. Dubai Airport Free zone
3. Dubai Automotive Cars free zone
4. Dubai Media city
5. Dubai Internet City
6. Dubai Gold and Diamond park

The incentives offered by the Dubai Free Zones are;

• 100% foreign ownership
• Complete exemption of taxes from customs& commercial levies full repatriation of capital and profits
• Extended leases
