RSSIn the European style of casual elegance, all 12 of the island’s casinos are located on the Dutch side, so even the French must cross the border when they get the urge to gamble.
Several casinos are open during the day, but the heavy betting takes place after dinner. As crowds stream out of the island’s 300-plus restaurants, they find excitement in baccarat, blackjack, Caribbean stud poker, craps, roulette and slot machines. For the best selection, visitors will want to check out St. Maarten’s newest casinos – Princess (try “Spanish 21” a combination game of blackjack and poker), Dolphin and Casino Royale.

Casino Royale. This is the largest casino on the island and is located at the Maho Beach Hotel. Open from 1 pm to 4 am every day of the year, Casino Royale has table limits ranging from US$5 to around $2,000 for blackjack and from $5 to around $500 for craps. |
Atlantis Casino. It is located at the Cupecoy Beach and is decorated in an ancient nautical theme. The Atlantis has a private gaming room for high-stakes baccarat, French roulette, Chemin de fer, and seven-card stud poker.
In Philipsburg, the Rouge et Noir is a Las Vegas-style casino with a Sigma Derby horse machine, video Keno and video poker. Smaller casinos offer sports entertainment and nightly dancing.

Lightning Casino. It is located just minutes from the airport and features boxing, baseball, soccer, hockey, football, basketball, and horse racing on big-screen televisions.
Pelican Casino. Located at the Pelican Resort in Simpson Bay, it is a Vegas-style casino with blackjack, roulette, craps, and slot machines.
Golden Casino. Located at the Great Bay Beach Hotel, the payback on its slots goes as high as around US$2,500.
There are two other casinos, The Diamond Casino and The Paradise Plaza Slots both located on Front Street in Philipsburg.
