Amusements in Seychelles

A tourist haven in the midst of Indian Ocean, the islands of Seychelles offer a host of amusements to visitors.

Other than at a few discos, most nightlife centres around the larger hotels. Most hotels offer programs for evening entertainment ranging from barbecues and dinner dances to folk singing.

There is, however, much to be enjoyed in the evenings, and a speciality is the local camtolet music, often accompanied by dancers, along with a mix of waltzes, polkas and quadrilles.

Typically, the larger hotels will have more entertainment on more days while the smaller ones will have one or two person bands.

Golf Courses

The Lemuria Resort on Praslin has the first 18 hole championship golf course in Seychelles. In Mahe the Reef Hotel has a 9-hole course at Anse aux Pins just south of the International Airport.

Visitors can obtain temporary membership and rent equipment at the clubhouse. There also is a miniature golf course at Le Meridien Barbarons Hotel.

Many international hotels have tennis and squash courts. But badminton is also available.
