UAE nationals account for only 9 per cent of the total workforce in Dubai's private sector, according to a report by the goverment of Dubai. Asians make up 80.56 per cent and Arab expatriates total 7.61 per cent while Europeans make up 2.01 percent. The report excludes government departments and international organizations. About 437,248 people are working in 37,775 organizations across the emirate, including 400,764 males and 36,484 females. |
Total number of Asians working in these establishments are 381,500, including 355,240 males and 26,260 females. The number of Arab expatriates totals 36,027, including 31,207 males and 4,820 females, while European workforce in the emirate accounts for 9,527, including 6,500 males and 3,027 females. The number of UAE nationals is estimated at 6,569, including, 5,101 males and 1,468 females.
The balance 3,625 belong to all other regions. About 269,739 employees live outside the city in of Dubai. In Trading and repairs sectors employ the highest number of other workers with 142,580 employed all in 21,492 establishments, including 124,184 Asians; followed by 81,272 in 3,687 establishments in It manufacturing and 78,829 employed in 1,578 companies in the construction sector. Hotels and restaurants employ s 33,266 people in 2,238 establishments.
About 24,656 people 4 are employed in 1,641 companies in the transport sector, s excluding the government offices, while 38,384 people work in 3,793 companies in the real estate sector. About 9,230 professionals are working in the education sector in 349 organizations and 12,706 people work, in 445 financial intermediaries. Dubai's total population, according to the report, is 862,387, including 611,799 males and 250,588 are females.
