1:The Open Air Theatre
The Open Air Theatre boasts an expanse of open water that holds a collection of tropical water lilies. It is open on special occasions, and for functions, stage performances and concerts. The Miss Gibraltar contest is often held amidst the wonderful splendour of this theatre as dusk falls on the Rock.
2: Theatre Royal
The Theatre Royal opened in 1847 with Verdi's opera "Nabucadonosor" and over the years was the main venue for operas, concerts, plays and even masked balls. During World War II, the British Garrison was entertained here. The theatre was later converted into a 950-seat cinema, and was closed in the early 1960s. It has recently been restored and opened for public.
