West's Centre
Jersey's first cinema, West's, opened at the corner of Bath Street and Peter Street in 1925. It was Renaissance revival in style with a striking blue and white tiled exterior. Unusually for that period it incorporated shops, an arcade, restaurant and dance hall. Its demolition made way for a small precinct of shops and restaurants set around a paved area with trees and seating.
