You can tie the knot in Jamaica just 24 hours after you arrive, with hardly any red tape at all, and without a blood test. A prior application for a marriage license to Ministry of National Security at a cost of two hundred Jamaican dollars (approximately US$5-US$6) is the only initiative you must take. |
There are non-denominational Marriage Officers who can officiate weddings either at their offices, in their homes or at a place chosen by the couple, at a cost of around US$50 – US$250, and are able to provide witnesses.
Some hotels have special package prices, which include performance of the ceremony, tax, transportation costs and expenses incurred plus other special requests (wedding cake, etc.).
The requirements for all persons wishing to get married in Jamaica are:
-
Application must be made in advance.

-
