It is easy to get married at St. Lucia. You need to stay here for 4 days before wedding. After you have been here for two days, the local solicitor can apply for a license on your behalf. You need to have received these two working days before the marriage date.
The documents required are
· Passport
· Birth certificate
· Decree Absolute ( if one of the party is a divorcee)
· In case of widow /widower a death certificate of the first spouse is required.
· If a name has been changed a deed poll is required.
· If one of the parties is under 18 years the consent of the parents in the form of a sworn affidavit stamped by a notary public is required.
· If any required documents are not in English, an authenticated translation of the same must be available in English.
Application to be married in St. Lucia must be made by local solicitor to the attorney general or notary who prepares and signs the residency after a 2 day residency period. The Attorney general must receive the application at least 4 days before the wedding date.

In the case of catholic church weddings, your local parish priest would need to liaise with the priest on island to ensure that you have under taken the necessary counseling period prior to the marriage and that you have met all necessary criteria to get married in the catholic church.
