The Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), the annual entertainment and shopping event is back once again to amuse and enlighten the kids with knowledge and fun. |
It is not just for kids as there are loads of bargains, surprises and deals for grown ups during the 10-week long shopping and entertainment bonanza. So get set ready for 72 days of fun-filled activities and shopping excitement from 21st June to 31st August 2007. The Ten Surprises are one of the biggest attractions and the highlight of this year's DSS. The special feature of the 10th anniversary celebration of DSS 2007 is that all the Surprises run through till August 31. The exhilarating Surprises this year are the Art, Food, Flower, Heritage, Global, Nature, Cartoon, Adventure and Knowledge in addition to Comedy Surprises. Comedy Surprises will showcase the best of humor and laughter for ten weeks continuous.
Adventure Surprises
The target audience of this surprise is the children, teenagers and adults, who love the thrill of outdoor activities as well as enjoy indoor events that test the reflexes and mental faculties. The acrobat shows performed by international troupes, beach activities, water sports and computer games for all gaming enthusiasts are on offer for this surprise.
Art Surprises
It is an arena for all art lovers and enthusiasts of all ages to come together to exhibit and appreciate art in all its different forms including music, writing and painting.
Cartoon Surprises
It is a combination of entertaining shows, competitions, workshops and plays for children who simply love to come face to face and interact with their favorite cartoon characters. This Surprise provides the perfect avenue for children to further their creativity and imagination.
Comedy Surprises
Organized for the first time in DSS, the visitors will be pleasantly surprised to find clowns and jugglers amidst them. Various stand-up comedy shows, caricature workshops and exhibitions will be held to entertain all visitors.
Flower Surprises
Get mesmerized by exotic aroma of vibrant flowers and their eye catching display of flower arrangement in attractive shapes in the numerous shopping malls during this DSS. Themed shows and parades based on the concept of flowers are accompanied by audio-visual effects and music. Competitions like flower arrangements and flower drawing and live workshops on flower vase decoration, painting, and handicrafts are the part of Flower Surprises.
Food Surprises
Plunge into gastronomical fare where you can taste the cuisines from around the globe. Internally acclaimed chefs from well-known hotels of the world come to Dubai to present an array of exotic culinary preparations. It is the time for food enthusiasts to enjoy amidst cooking competitions, food carvings and live entertainment.
Global Surprises
It is the best place to take a glimpse, learn and appreciate culture and traditions of other regions. Global Surprises will entertain and enlighten the visitors through folklore and cultural shows, songs, dances and other art forms of various parts of the world.
Heritage Surprises
