Bula Fiji festival
Held in Nadi, the Bula Fiji festivals falls during mid July and is celebrated ever year. Honouring The Founder Of Modern Fiji
Various historical events are held in Fiji as tribute to founders, explorers or to people who have made significant contributions for the development of the island. One of the most prominent among them is the one where Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna is honoured.
Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna is the father of modern Fiji. The celebrations commence from last Monday in the month of May every year to commemorate his death and continue throughout the week.
The celebrations are wrapped off with the Fijian President addressing the people as he enters the parliament grounds with the residents for polishing the founder’s statue. This historical celebration is marked by recognition, respect, and the upholding of the rights of all ethnic groups who call Fiji Islands their home.
World Music Festival
World Music festival was held in Fiji for the first ever time in 2006. The event is held annually in Suva in June. The World Music festival is an opportunity for various international as well as local bands to showcase their talents. You can enjoy the local Fijian music, tribal music and reggae along with several other types of music at the event. The main characteristic of the event is the deploying of customary musical instruments log drum.
