The Republic of Cuba is a collection of islands in the Caribbean Sea. The official language is Spanish. It hosts a wealth of international festivals and events. Many international events include simultaneous translation services from Spanish to English for main work sessions.


National Holidays & Festivals

  • Independence Day, May 20. Anniversary of the transfer of power from Spain in 1902.
  • Revolution Day, July 26. Commemorates Fidel Castro's opposition to the Batista military dictatorship on this day in 1953.
  • Liberation Day, January 1. Commorates the revolution of 1959 led by Fidel Castro which ousted dictator Fulgencio Batista.

Religious & Traditional Festivals 

·         Parrandas

This annual traditional and popular festivity witnesses celebrations in the neighboring towns of Vueltas and Camajuani, which last all night until daybreak. As a part of the festivities, two rival sides prepare a big float each with monumental piece built on it. The floats parade down the center of the city, several hours apart, on the last Saturday of every year. This celebration is a magnificent festivity devoted exclusively to merry-making.
