The Dubai Tennis Championships is a professional tennis tournament held in Dubai Tennis Stadium, This US$1 million Championships attracts many of the world's top male and female players to the city's impressive Tennis Stadium. The tournament incorporates both Men's ATP Tour and Women's WTA Tour events and features both singles and doubles competitions. It is owned and organised by the Dubai Duty Free Company and takes place under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships 2009 will once again feature the top tennis stars for which Dubai has become one of the favourite stops on the ATP and WTA tour. The tournament will take place at the Dubai Tennis Stadium from Feb-March 2009. Roger Federer, Andre Agassi, Rafael Nadal, Maria Sharapova and Lindsay Davenport have all played here in the past and always produce some explosive matches.
