RSSKnown previously as the Middle East International Film Festival, the Abu Dhabi Film Festival was launched in 2007 with the objective of introducing a vivacious and rich film culture in the UAE sheikdoms.
The event organised by Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage is held during the month of October every year. The immense support received from H.E. Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage, has paved way for the event to launch dedicated programs. These exclusive programs offer education to the people of the Emirates, provide inspiration to film makers, thereby offer an opportunity for the flourishing of the regional cinema industry.
The event, while offering an opportunity to shed light on the works of local filmmakers, sets a stage for diverse audience to engage themselves, at the same time engage others via cinema. The Festival also offers a chance to bring to the front the new voice of Arab cinema while emphasising the role of Abu Dhabi as the cultural capital of the Emirates.

Master Class with Nouri Bouzid: The Ellipsis and the Off-Screen

Utilizing exercises, Nouri Bouzid regularly conducts with his students. Tunisian auteur and film professor Nouri Bouzid explores and challenges the boundaries of traditional filmmaking.
Master Classes are FREE to the public, on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will be available at the Emirates Palace box office one hour prior to each class.
Master Class with Eyad Zahra: DIY NOW
120 minutes / Suitable for All Ages

DIY Now is a two-hour workshop on “do-it-yourself” independent filmmaking with director and producer Eyad Zahra, whose low-budget debut feature, The Taqwacores, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
Master Classes are FREE to the public, on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will be available at the Emirates Palace box office one hour prior to each class.
Family Day
