The North of Pakistan beckons you with umpteen white water rafting opportunities, to name a few spots are Chitral, Gilgit, , Indus, Swat, Kunar , , Hunza and the Neelam river.
Rivers flowing down from snow-filled mountains are great for adventure water sports and Pakistan is a home for such destinations. White water rafting in Pakistan challenges you to hold your balance in speeding waters. For those, who want t explore more thrills and shrills can opt for jeep safari, rock climbing, mountaineering, skiing and trekking in Pakistan. Northern Pakistan is the hub for adventure sports. There are various mountains, where trekking trails and rock climbing are provided under the guidance of expert trainers.
Things to remember
Follow weather reports before planning your white water rafting adventure as rains could play havoc. Same way it is better to avoid rafting during drought as the low water level can trickle your raft between rocks.
It is highly essential to follow the guidelines of your instructor and be careful as the adventure could turn fatal. Always paddle in a group. Avoid carrying electronic gadgets and accessories which are not water proof.
Never forget to wear a life vest and a helmet, so that even if you fall from the raft you will not drown and the rescue team could identify you without difficulty. Contact the police, or the coast guard in case of emergency.
Carbohydrate-rich food is recommended to eat before taking up a rafting adventure.
Paddling in polluted water is not recommended as it could trigger infections and other skin diseases. So avoid rafting if your skin is sensitive. Lastly never forget to carry enough food and water if you are planning to extend your camp.
